This is the first book I have ever read by this author. But I thoroughly enjoyed The Orphan King from start to finish! It has two of my favorite things, it is set in medieval England, and it has the beginnings of what I know will be an awesome good versus evil battle in the coming books! I was fascinated by all the characters but especially Katherine, William the cryptic knight, and Thomas our hero. Thomas is just so cool and brilliant, I don' t often read books that have a young male hero as the main character, but I am very glad I read this one, throughout the book Thomas felt to me like a good, medieval, Artemis Fowl. What an interesting conundrum, huh? If that doesn't pique your interest I don't know what will. The Orphan King was brilliantly written, at the end we still don't know much about the immortals and basically more new questions are brought into the story than old questions resolved! It was a short read, I read it in a day. I highly recommend The Orphan King and I anxiously await the next book in this series. What can I say, I'm hooked!!!
I recieved this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah in exchange for an honest review. I have done so. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
