The Necessity of an Enemy by Ron Carpenter Jr. © 2012
This book is a wonderful read for all Christians. The author talks about how our Enemies benefit from being a part of God’s plan for our lives. Ron says that the defining of our enemies is; “enemies are the people, mind sets, weaknesses, and situations in your life that try to destroy the passion you have for God’s purpose and plans for you.”
The arrival of an enemy in your life is a sign to you that this presents season you are in is finally coming to an end. God often assigns an enemy as a catalyst for you to exit one season and enter another.
Enemies are indicators to you that God is planning movement in your life, and transition is right around the corner It can happen that the Enemy will use a demonic spirit to challenge your purpose and rob you of your optional, but I believe this is rare. I will give this there are times when it seems like a spouse or child is your enemy, but that is not true. The enemy is the issue between you that may be driving you crazy. Our responsibility is to fight the problem not the person.
There at times that the pain you are experiences is to lead you to a greater blessing ahead and a promotion. An enemy is any circumstance, any person, any deep seated sin, any crippling character flaw really anything the devil can dream up that threatens the completion of God’s purpose for your life.
